People and Performance Specialist
We are X, bigly labs, Dis-Chem’s high-performance innovation hub; a place where bold ideas meet data, design, and radical customer focus to reimagine what healthcare can be.
Our mission is to power the future of healthcare by lowering costs, unlocking new possibilities, and improving access to healthcare for all South Africans. We do this through cutting-edge digital solutions that deliver smarter, more human, and truly patient-focused experiences. Here, your work is not limited to a whiteboard; it becomes real. It drives decisions, shapes experiences, and moves healthcare forward. We are driven by one big question: How do we use data and today’s technology to build breakthroughs to better health?
There’s only one question left: are you ready to make healthcare smarter, and actually mean it?
The People and Performance Strategy Specialist strengthens organisational effectiveness by ensuring that people, roles and capabilities are clearly defined, appropriately aligned and effectively deployed to support business priorities. The role provides data-driven expertise across role design and remuneration, workforce and capability planning, onboarding, and employee insights. It partners with leaders and stakeholders to create clarity around roles and expectations, optimise how talent and skills are deployed across the organisation, enable effective onboarding, and translate people data and feedback into actionable insights that improve organisational and employee performance. This isn't a pure HR strategy seat, and it isn't a traditional HR ops role, it's someone who can design a solution and then build it themselves. You'll own all the workstreams: onboarding (the biggest piece), job grading, remuneration benchmarking, and people surveys/analytics. You'll be expected to think systemically, back your recommendations with data, and hold your own with senior stakeholders.

- Strong research and people analytics capability, with experience designing employee surveys, pulse checks and other feedback mechanisms; analysing quantitative and qualitative data; identifying meaningful trends and insights; and translating findings into practical recommendations.
- Strong understanding of job architecture, role design and salary benchmarking, including the ability to assess roles against organisational needs, develop and evaluate job descriptions, support role grading, and translate market and internal data into sound remuneration recommendations.
- Excellent facilitation, stakeholder-management, project management, change management and coaching skills.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to balance employee experience, organisational effectiveness, market data and business requirements when making recommendations.
- Experience with owning and continuously improving the onboarding experience end-to-end
- Proven experience managing complex strategic projects and implementing organisation-wide initiatives
