Paid Media Growth Specialist

Melrose Arch (Hybrid)

We are X, bigly labs, Dis-Chem’s high-performance innovation hub; a place where bold ideas meet data, design, and radical customer focus to reimagine what healthcare can be.

Our mission is to power the future of healthcare by lowering costs, unlocking new possibilities, and improving access to healthcare for all South Africans. We do this through cutting-edge digital solutions that deliver smarter, more human, and truly patient-focused experiences. Here, your work is not limited to a whiteboard; it becomes real. It drives decisions, shapes experiences, and moves healthcare forward. We are driven by one big question: How do we use data and today’s technology to build breakthroughs to better health?

There’s only one question left: are you ready to make healthcare smarter, and actually mean it?

The Performance & Paid Media Growth Specialist is the commercial driver of the digital "Performance Engine." Responsible for profitable customer acquisition, this role shifts the brand's focus from "buying broad traffic" to capturing high-intent demand efficiently.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Business, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 4–6+ years of hands-on experience managing high-budget, large-scale Performance Marketing campaigns in retail, eCommerce, or FMCG environments.
  • Expertise in directly navigating and managing major ad platforms: Google Ads (Search, PMAX, Shopping, YouTube), Meta Ads Manager, and programmatic networks.
  • Proven experience managing product data feeds and Google Merchant Center/Facebook Catalogues.
  • Experience with First-Party Data activation (e.g., syncing CRM platforms like Braze to ad networks for suppression and lookalike audiences).
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on commercial metrics: Profit on Ad Spend (POAS), Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV), and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) rather than just clicks or impressions.
  • Familiarity with Online-to-Offline (O2O) attribution (tracking how digital clicks drive physical in-store or clinic sales).
  • Experience launching campaigns on Microsoft/Bing Advertising, In-App platforms, or utilizing deep-learning retargeting partners (Advantageous).

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

  • Directly build, launch, and optimize paid search, shopping, and social campaigns within the native platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, etc.).
  • Work with the CRM team to activate Braze "Audience Sync" data.
  • Own the product feed infrastructure (Google Merchant Center / Meta Shopping). Segment shopping feeds by product margin and strategic priority to guide the bidding algorithms to optimize for profitability, not just top-line revenue.
  • Collaborate with the graphics and content teams to ensure regular asset refreshes. Standardise Better Rewards "Instant Member Savings" messaging across all always-on brand campaigns and ad extensions to drive value perception.
  • Bridge the gap between online engagement and offline action. Implement tracking solutions to connect digital clicks to physical in-store sales and clinic bookings, proving the total ecosystem ROI.

WHO YOU ARE?

  • Deep understanding of algorithmic bidding, media buying structures, and programmatic ecosystems.
  • Highly numerate and analytical; capable of digesting large datasets to find budget inefficiencies and optimization opportunities.
  • Shifts the conversation from "Media Metrics" (Clicks/Reach) to "Business Metrics" (Profit/LTV).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Meticulous regarding budget pacing, ensuring no overspends or underspends.

Our values show up in how we think, build, and make choices that make an impact. We are building a culture that drives progress; one that fixes friction, chases what changes, and owns the outcome. We design with tomorrow in mind, ask sharper questions, and answer them with care, urgency, and systems that scale.

Think you’ve got energy, curiosity, and guts? Come hold the space, make it matter, and own a breakthrough.
