The SEO & Organic Growth Specialist ensures that the Dis-Chem website is technically healthy, visible to search bots, and structurally sound for organic growth. This role bridges the gap between technical infrastructure and content strategy, developing keyword and trend-led plans for optimal visibility across traditional Search Engines and AI/LLMs.
They are responsible for developing and executing Dis-Chem's organic growth strategy to increase qualified customer acquisition, improve search visibility and reduce long-term customer acquisition costs across the digital ecosystem.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marketing, Information Technology, Digital Media, or a related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Search Engine Optimisation (Technical, On-Page, and Off-Page) for large enterprise or eCommerce websites (Magento/Adobe Commerce experience is highly advantageous).
- Deep understanding of Technical SEO elements (Core Web Vitals, server-side rendering, crawl budget optimization, indexation, and 404 management).
- Expertise in Schema.org structured data markup (including Product, FAQ, Loca lBusiness, and advanced dual-pricing/loyalty markup like Member Program).
- Working knowledge of Google's YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) and E-E-A-T guidelines for the healthcare sector.
- Strong proficiency in SEO and analytics tools (Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/SEMrush, GA4).
- Familiarity with emerging AI/LLM Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) strategies.
- Experience in acquiring backlinks and building off-page authority signals.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?
- Build annual SEO roadmap aligned to commercial priorities.
- Own the AI / LLM Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) strategy to ensure Dis-Chem is cited by ChatGPT/Gemini. Architect advanced structured data (e.g., Dual-Price / MemberProgram Schema) to highlight Better Rewards instant savings in Rich Results.
- Develop organic & LLM content strategies based on targeted keyword opportunities. Conduct technical QA of all blogs, landing pages, and category copy before publishing. Continuously detect and fix pages that rank well but have low click-through rates (CTR) due to under-optimised titles/meta.
- Own the Off-page SEO strategy, developing and driving initiatives that attract high-quality backlinks and strengthen brand authority signals. Track relevant social media trends and translate these insights into actionable organic search opportunities and content strategies.
- Work seamlessly within the Performance Pod. Align with the SEO Content Writer to execute the content roadmap, and share organic insights with the Paid Media Specialist to improve overall acquisition efficiency and prevent cannibalization.
- Optimise Apple App Store and Google Play Store listings.

You're an SEO expert who deeply understands search algorithms, ranking factors and web architecture, and who can diagnose complex technical indexing issues and translate them into actionable development or content tasks, connecting organic visibility to commercial goals like eCommerce revenue, clinic bookings and loyalty acquisition, presenting performance and roadmaps with confidence, and empowering junior SEOs and marketers in their day-to-day execution.
