Software Engineer - Automation

The Automation Engineer delivers end-to-end automation solutions and system components independently, applying sound engineering judgment and established best practices. This role ensures quality, reliability, and maintainability in delivery while contributing to process improvement and mentoring junior engineers. The Automation Engineer bridges tactical delivery and broader team influence, playing an integral part in process discovery, building automation workflows, and driving successful delivery of RPA initiatives.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

• Strong proficiency in Python scripting, RPA tools (UiPath, Blue Prism, etc.), workflow orchestration, and API automation
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerisation tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, process orchestration, version control, and automated testing
• Solid understanding of data structures, APIs, and performance optimisation
• Understanding of system architecture and component-level design
• Continuous drive to identify automation opportunities that improve speed, accuracy, and scalability
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

• Evaluate processes for automation suitability based on complexity, stability, and business impact
• Design and develop automation workflows using leading RPA platforms (e.g. UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism)
• Conduct unit testing and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Track and report on benefits achieved through automation, including time savings, error reduction, and service improvements
• Collaborate with the RPA Centre of Excellence (CoE) and development teams to refine automations post-deployment
