Wunderflats is rebuilding its BI foundation to become a data-driven company. Our goal is simple: leaders and teams should be able to trust dashboards, understand metrics, and answer business questions without ambiguity.

A strong BI foundation is also the prerequisite for our next step: AI-assisted access to insights, where stakeholders can explore and work with data through AI agents built on top of well-modelled, well-documented, and governed datasets.
This role is central to shaping both our analytics layer and how the company interacts with data in the future.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will sit within the Data team and operate at the intersection of business, analytics, and data engineering.
You will collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, Product, and other departments to ensure business logic is accurately reflected in the data.

Does this sound like the right next step in your career? We would like to hear from you!

YOUR MISSION

  • Establish a trusted data foundation: Profile and improve core datasets by identifying inconsistencies, gaps, and root causes, partnering closely with Engineering and business teams to ensure data quality and reliability.
  • Own the Single Source of Truth: Define, document, and maintain a centralized metrics catalog (definitions, business rules, calculation logic, ownership) in close collaboration with Finance, Operations, and Product.
  • Translate business processes into scalable data models: Build clean, well-documented, and governance-ready data models in dbt that enable self-service BI and ensure clear lineage.
  • Prepare AI-ready data structures: Design curated datasets with machine-readable metric definitions, clear assumptions, and guardrails to enable safe and reliable AI querying.
  • Develop AI-powered data access: Prototype and implement AI-assisted interfaces (leveraging LLM APIs and internal tools) that allow non-technical users to explore data via natural language.
  • Ensure trust, traceability, and adoption: Continuously validate AI outputs, refine guardrails, and improve usability to build business confidence in both BI and AI-driven insights.

YOUR PROFILE

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, BI engineering, or a similar role.
  • Strong SQL (complex joins, window functions, performance-aware queries).
  • Strong Python (especially pandas) for validation, transformation, and data analysis.
  • Solid understanding of analytics engineering concepts (facts/dimensions, modelling patterns, lineage).
  • Experience building BI-ready data models (dbt or similar strongly preferred).
  • Problem-solving skills and comfort with ambiguity.
  • High standards for data correctness, clarity, and documentation.
