
Head of People
Reports to: CEO
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Head of People to build and manage our foundational people processes. This is a critical operational role for a doer: someone who loves setting up systems, streamlining workflows, and building a scalable foundation for our team. You'll be responsible for the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to off-boarding, and everything in between.
This is a high-impact, operational role where you will build the backbone of our organisation as we scale rapidly. We need a pragmatic, results-driven professional who understands the unique demands of a high-growth startup and is ready to drive tactical execution.
What You'll Do
- Operational Excellence: Own and manage all people operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes for onboarding, off-boarding, and day-to-day employee needs.
- System Implementation: Manage our HRIS, with a strong preference for experience using Rippling to handle payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Global Compliance: Navigate legal and operational complexities across different markets, particularly in the UK and US, to ensure we are compliant and efficient.
- Documentation & Administration: Oversee all employee documentation, including legal contracts, offer letters, and share option administration.
- Culture & Support: Act as a key support system for the team, maintaining a positive and productive culture through operational consistency and clear communication.
Who You Are
You have 5-8 years of hands-on experience in a people or operations role at a high-growth startup. You're a natural operator, and you're now ready to step into a leadership position where you can build from the ground up.
- Startup DNA: You have direct experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment and understand what it takes to scale from the ground up.
- Rippling Pro: You have experience using Rippling as a core part of your people operations workflow.
- Hands-on Operator: You enjoy the tactical, day-to-day work of people ops and are comfortable rolling your sleeves up.
- Problem Solver: You're proactive, resourceful, and excel at building systems and processes that solve complex operational challenges.
- Global Knowledge: You have experience managing employee processes in different international markets.
