We are looking for a Senior Product Manager with expertise in Payments and Monetization to join our team, reporting directly to the Director of Product. You will drive the vision for the end-to-end checkout experience and payment infrastructure, ensuring product-market fit for our growing suite of services. This is a high-impact role where you will balance user ease with monetization, ensuring that millions of transactions remain seamless, secure, and efficient.

This role requires a blend of technical insight, product vision, and collaborative leadership. You will work within a cross-functional team, partnering daily with software engineers, designers, and data scientists, as well as stakeholders in marketing, operations, logistics, and customer service.

What You Will Do đꑇ

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define the vision for Wallapop’s purchase ecosystem. Prioritize the roadmap with a focus on Checkout and Payments—maximizing volume, driving wallet adoption, optimizing costs, and ensuring a frictionless user journey.

  • New Service Innovation: Design, test, and implement new services in close collaboration with Operations, Finance, and Data teams.

  • Payment Infrastructure: Oversee payment workflows to ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining a high-quality, accessible user experience.

  • Evidence-Based Discovery: Optimize conversion and monetization through A/B testing (including pricing and payment methods) to validate ideas and reduce uncertainty.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Gather insights from users and partners to guide continuous product improvement.

  • Lifecycle Leadership: Guide cross-functional teams through the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to high-quality launch.

  • Performance Monitoring: Track product metrics and user feedback to ensure our services are constantly evolving and improving.

  • Industry Expertise: Stay current on technological and regulatory shifts (like PSD2) to advocate for and implement best practices.

What We’re Looking For đź”Ž

  • Experience: Extensive experience in Product Management, specifically within Payments, Fintech, or E-commerce Marketplaces.

  • Domain Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the payments lifecycle (Acquiring, Gateway, Escrow, Wallets) and familiarity with relevant regulations (e.g., PSD2, GDPR).

  • Technical Fluency: Strong technical acumen with the ability to engage effectively with engineers on API integrations, system architecture, and transactional integrity.

  • Analytical Mindset: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to use data analysis tools to drive strategic decisions.

  • Collaborative Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams to deliver successful product initiatives.

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Language: Proficiency in English is required; Spanish is a plus. 

What Would Be A Plus 🚀

  • Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Experience leading the development of ML-based product features or a solid understanding of how machine learning enhances payment security and personalization.

  • Experience navigating the complexities of multi-currency or cross-border transactions in a marketplace setting.

Do note that all our jobs are đź“Ť Barcelona based. We follow a hybrid model where flexibility rules. We commit to a minimum of 6 days per month in the office. Each team self-organizes to decide on cadence and in-person/remote rituals.

What does the hiring process for this position look like? đź‘€**Please, note that all interviews take place remotely over hangouts.**

Intro Call - run by talent acquisition, focus on providing more information about the role and the company as well as going over your experience, motivation, and expectations. This usually takes 45-60 minutes.

Hiring manager call: run by the HM to asses basic fit with the role. This usually takes 30-45 minutes. 

Case Study Submission - you will be assigned a task to submit within 5 up to 7 days where you will be able to showcase your expertise for the role.

Expertise Interview - run by the hiring team, focus on the required core skills and the ability to deliver in a given context. This usually takes 60-90 minutes.

Stakeholder Interview - run by relevant stakeholders reflecting the reality of the context of the role, focus on the ability to collaborate & deliver in a cross-functional set-up. This usually takes 60 minutes.

Culture Interview - run by culture interviewers, focus on adherence to Wallapop's purpose and business proposition. This usually takes 60 minutes. 

Offer - should you be the right candidate, your offer will be discussed over a call with talent acquisition and will then be confirmed in writing.
