The Underwriting team at Wakam lies at the core of strategic decision-making and risk analysis. Our mission? To develop pricing strategies and risk frameworks that ensure profitable, sustainable, and competitive insurance solutions for our partners.

We blend actuarial science, data analytics, and innovation to build cutting-edge products across Europe — from Motor and Home to Pet, A&H, and Extended Warranty. We partner closely with MGAs, reinsurers, and internal teams to bring our vision to life.


🎯 Your Mission

As Pricing Lead – UK, you’ll be the driving force behind our UK pricing strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Underwriting Officer, you’ll design and execute data-led pricing models that support both profitability and innovation across the Motor and Home insurance portfolios.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Pricing Strategy: Lead and refine pricing strategies to achieve profitable growth while adapting to market dynamics.

  • Portfolio Management: Monitor pricing performance, analyze profitability KPIs, and recommend improvements to optimize margins.

  • Technical Pricing & Analytics: Build and enhance technical pricing models using actuarial and statistical methodologies.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a key partner to internal teams, MGAs, reinsurers, and compliance stakeholders to ensure pricing is aligned with strategic and regulatory goals.

  • Leadership & Innovation: Lead junior team members and bring forward-thinking ideas to modernize pricing tools and methodologies.


🧠 What You Bring

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A strong academic background — degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar.

  • Solid experience in retail insurance pricing, ideally for Motor and Home insurance products.

  • In-depth understanding of the UK insurance market, regulations, and pricing trends.

  • Proficiency in pricing tools such as EMBLEM, AKUR8, and programming languages like Python or R.

  • Strong data interpretation skills, stakeholder communication, and business acumen.
