This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate who is keen to acquire experience and build a career in the localisation industry. The position is a 12-month full-time paid internship as a Studio Production Intern. The chosen candidate will work alongside Dubbing Producers and Project Managers in our In-House Production department, providing support on a wide variety of high-profile localisation projects.
The ideal candidate will have a proactive mind-set, willingness to learn and be part of a hard-working, fun-loving team.
A high standard of written and spoken English is required for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Providing ad hoc administrative support and assisting the team in a variety of tasks, from production to material revision, as required
- Assisting on team projects as needed by producers, performing casting and availability checks, selecting voice talent samples as requested by project brief
- Supporting the Studio Bookings Coordinator with maintaining and updating the studio diary and project schedules as necessary
- Checking media materials as they arrive, and flagging factors that should be considered in quoting or recordings (i.e. different languages or musical segments)
- Revising final script to match dialogue changes made in-studio, for projects that require as-recorded materials
- Keeping a close line of communication with producers to relay relevant material information
- Carrying out a word and character count for scripts and converting production materials into appropriate formats when necessary to ensure technical specifications
- Fetching drinks, snacks, and/or other items as requested by production or the studios between sessions
- Supporting reception on department/studio events and client visits by getting food, snacks, studio or office supplies
- Welcome actors and/or children to the studio when needed, showing facilities and ensuring we are meeting legal requirements on child talents sessions
- Printing and bringing scripts to sessions as needed, as well as chaperone talents who are reviewing scripts in studio
Essential skills and experience
- Excellent organisational, time-management and planning skills
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving, displaying both technical and artistic skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy with a willingness to learn
- Flexible team player, willing to 'go the extra mile' to get the job done
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative
- Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word knowledge is essential
Desired skills and experience
- An understanding and interest in languages (the ability to speak another language would be useful, but is not essential)
- A passion for studio artistic processes is a plus
