- Provide excellent levels of care to the children in your care and exceed customer expectations daily.
- Ensure parents are aware at the end of each session of any problems or key achievements from the sessions their children have been involved in.
- Always be punctual, reliable and adhere to the high standards of organisation required by the company.
- Attend training courses which will enable you to carry out your role successfully and to assist with your future career progression.
- To ensure a safe environment is kept at all times for the juniors and that you immediately report anything you see to the Head of Family Activities or the Experience Lead as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities ‘A Day in your Work Life’
- Keep abreast of information on all club facilities, programmes, social events, customer suggestions in order to ensure you are fully aware of what is going on across the club and can be an important link between members and all other departments.
- To be responsible for ensuring any concerns you have regarding Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable adults are reported to your Head of Family Activities / Swimming Coordinator.
- Maintain a positive, productive working relationship with all other colleagues.
- Help to create an environment where all colleagues enjoy themselves whilst at work and make a real contribution to the success of the club and business as a whole.
- To support in planning and delivering fun and engaging sessions as per set session plans and timetables.
- To be involved with the Head of Family Activities / Junior Activities Supervisor to drive occupancy in the department through a world class timetable offering.
- To assist the Junior Activities Supervisor to drive the department to achieve set targets, meet objectives and be commercially successful.
- Working with the Junior Activities Supervisor to drive retention and Net Growth.
- Have knowledge of and promote the Swim programme (& Rqts programme) within the club.
- Always be punctual, reliable and adhere to the high standards of organisation required by the company.
- Be proactive, use your initiative and take ownership of situations.
- Be fully involved in the creation of a fun, lively and creative atmosphere for all members.
- Take part in activities, programs and events in the Club which are engaging, generate revenue and promote retention.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of statutory requirements in relation to Regulatory Bodies and work with the Management Team to ensure compliance at all times.
- Ensure all children in your care are adequately cared for according to statutory guidelines including ratios.
- Carry out duties as required to ensure all Club V equipment is maintained in safe working order at all times and all rooms are in a safe and satisfactory condition prior to use.
- Report any faults quickly in order that they can be rectified without any undue delay.
- Ensure all members and guests are greeted in a friendly and courteous manner when entering the Club V area and that all members and guests are acknowledged on their departure.
- Listen and respond positively to any member concerns and pass on any necessary information and observations to the Head of Family Activities / Swim Coordinator who will give feedback within 48 hours of receipt.
- Be fully aware of all emergency and evacuation procedures and take part in regular training to maintain up to date knowledge of these procedures.
- Have a thorough understanding of the Virgin Active brand standards and be able to interpret and deliver them on a daily basis, ensuring the pool areas and equipment are maintained and presented as laid out in the brand standards.
- Be aware of the importance of membership sales and continually aim to maximise all sales opportunities within the club.
- Be aware of the importance of member retention and understand your role in influencing members who are considering leaving the club to stay.
- Be aware of the importance of member satisfaction on club performance, proactively monitor all sources of member feedback and seek to identify opportunities to improve member engagement and satisfaction wherever possible.
What we need from you
- A minimum Level 2 qualification in a child related field.
- Has great passion and pride in their own work.
- Ability to work from instruction effectively and safely with minimal supervision.
