Job Description: Government Relations Officer 

 

Department: Legal 

Location: Saudi Arabia 

The Government Relations Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating interactions between Veeam, related third parties, and government entities in Saudi Arabia. This role ensures full compliance with local labour, immigration, regulatory, and licensing requirements, while providing operational and administrative support to ensure smooth business activities. The GRO handles official documentation, government transactions, legal queries, and maintains effective relationships with relevant stakeholders. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Act as the primary liaison between the company and government entities, including MHRSD, GOSI, Jawazat, ZATCA, Qiwa, Muqeem, Mudad, Absher, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassies, Chamber of Commerce, Municipality, Civil Court, Ministry of Justice, MISA, Special Economic Zone Authorities, and other relevant authorities. 
  • Process, submit, and follow up on all government-related transactions including work visas, Iqama issuance and renewal, exit/re-entry visas, visitor/business visas, passport updates, and other immigration requirements. 
  • Coordinate the issuance, renewal, amendment, and compliance of commercial registrations, licenses, chamber of commerce certificates, permits, and other company-related documents. 
  • Prepare, submit, and track official letters, forms, presentations, reports, and documentation required by government authorities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. 
  • Maintain organized, confidential, and up-to-date records of all government-related documents, permits, and transactions. 
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes by ensuring completion of all required government procedures, documentation, and clearances. 
  • Arrange and coordinate visits to government offices, service centers, and external agencies. 
  • Monitor changes in Saudi labor law, immigration regulations, and relevant government policies and proactively communicate potential impacts. 
  • Support inspections, audits, legal cases, and official visits by government authorities; and possibly represent the company in a professional manner during these interactions. 
  • Assist with compliance formalities, legal queries, attestation of documents, and banking support as required. 
  • Provide general administrative support as needed. 

Additional Qualifications 

  • Saudi National. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Compliance, or a related field (degree preferred; equivalent experience considered). 
  • Minimum 3-7 years’ experience in government relations, HR operations, or similar role in Saudi Arabia; experience in corporate or professional services is a plus. 
  • Proven operational, project management, and customer support record. 
  • Strong knowledge of government portals and platforms (Qiwa, GOSI, Muqeem, Mudad, Absher) and local government processes and regulations. 
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-up skills; ability to multitask and manage multiple requests under pressure. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely. 
  • Hybrid role with occasional travel to government offices; flexible hours may be required based on government deadlines and official events.
