We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join the Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) AI engineering team. Veeam Data Cloud is building a next-generation data and intelligence platform on modern cloud services to deliver proactive, data-driven insights and solutions. We are leveraging advanced machine learning and artificial techniques to enhance our customers’ ability to protect, recover, and innovate with their data. We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our growing team and play a critical role in designing, implementing, and scaling our services.
Your tasks will include:
- Design and develop highly reliable and scalable SaaS microservices, integrated with a variety of cloud-based managed services utilizing Python, Java, Go, and other modern languages
- Ensure your code is high-quality, thoroughly tested, and secure
- Participate in on-call rotation for product operations.
- Take ownership of the reliability and efficiency of your services running in the cloud
- Participate in technical design discussions, reviewing code, and providing feedback to other engineers
- Collaborate with a distributed team of engineers to build the VDC platform and support it in production
What we expect from you:
- 5+ years of experience in the software development industry
- Demonstrated expertise designing, building, and implementing SaaS or large-scale cloud services on Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)w
- Expertise with a modern programming language like Python, Java, Go, Scala, or Rust
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures
- Expertise in developing, testing, and debugging production-quality, scalable, concurrent systems
- A strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals (data structures and algorithms) and modern AI concepts + technologies (large language models, vector databases, etc.)
- Passion, curiosity, and optimism related to emerging technologies in and around the data + AI space
- Work with stakeholders to refine and implement compliance requirements related to data privacy, security, and residency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Agility, creativity, and agency
Will be an advantage:
- Experience with modern data stores and analytical platforms such as Databricks, Delta Lake, and Cosmos DB
- Experience with Azure-native services such as Azure Event Hubs, Azure Container Apps, and Azure Kubernetes Service
- Experience in the data protection or data security industries

The salary range posted is On Target Earnings (OTE), which is inclusive of base and variable pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.

United States of America Pay Range
$168,100 - $240,100 USD
