We are searching for an experienced and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our team, to support our business growth and expansion across the Asia Pacific and Japan region. This is a 6 months maternity cover position.
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare financial reports for multiple entities in the APJ region
- Complete month‐end activities, such as:
- Management of accruals and prepayments
- Bank/credit card, intercompany, finance lease reconciliations
- Maintenance of fixed assets depreciation and expense amortisation schedules
- Foreign exchange remeasurement
- Variance analysis
- Ensure all company transactions are recorded accurately and promptly
- Prepare/Support tax compliance (CIT, Tax Audit report, Transfer Pricing report/3CEAA, Corporate Governance, GST, Indirect Tax (WHT), Provident Fund, Profession Tax);
- Process payments in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist with the preparation of cash flow forecasts
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to support informed business decisions
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Assist with other compliance matters which may arise
- Assist other business departments with accounting issues and queries as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Appropriate tertiary degree qualifications in accounting; public accounting firm experience is preferred but not required
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, including handling of financial reporting and month-end close activities, is required.
- Have appropriate experience, ability and creativity to support change and process improvements, and are unafraid to share their perspective in group discussions.
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Fluency in English is required, knowledge of other Asian languages is an advantage.
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, and Workday (Desirable)
- Ability to work independently and within a flexible team environment
- Exercise attention to detail and numerical precision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced computer skills including a strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft-based applications, in an advantage.
