Why this role is awesome: 

As Software Engineer, Fleet Support Operations, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining, managing, and optimizing Vay’s platform and network infrastructure to ensure the smooth operation of our commercial driverless fleet in Las Vegas.

This role calls for strong debugging skills, hands-on experience with Linux systems, network troubleshooting, CI/CD pipelines, and a mindset for continuous improvement. You’ll also apply C++ programming skills to support and debug system components, ensuring integration and performance align with fleet requirements.

You’ll be the backbone of system reliability—ensuring robust monitoring, effective incident response, and high availability of services that support our vehicles and remote driving stations.

What you'll be driving:

  • Act as L1 support and on-call engineer for incidents and customer support requests involving vehicles, remote driving stations, equipment, networks, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot vehicle and remote driving stations network infrastructure to ensure uptime and service quality.
  • Support the bring-up of new vehicles and remote driving stations.
  • Increase automated testing coverage of the entire system for end to end scenarios.
  • Monitor and improve alerting systems for early issue detection and resolution.
  • Continuously optimise our systems, platforms, and tools with an eye for scalability and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to resolve complex system-wide issues.

What are we looking for: 

  • Strong debugging skills across large and complex systems.
  • Proficient in software development using C++
  • Proven experience maintaining on-premise network infrastructure.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, CircleCI, Jenkins).
  • Solid understanding of Docker and containerisation concepts.
  • Scripting experience is a plus
