The Role  

At Valtech, we build connected digital ecosystems that scale with our clients’ ambitions. As a MuleSoft Architect, you will play a key role in shaping enterprise-grade integration platforms and API ecosystems for global clients across industries.

You will own the integration architecture vision, define standards and best practices, and guide delivery teams in building secure, scalable, and reusable MuleSoft solutions. This role blends hands-on architectural depth with strong collaboration across business, engineering, and cloud teams.

Role & Responsibilities:

Architecture & Solution Design

• Define and drive end-to-end integration and API architecture using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Mule 4.4+).
• Design API-led connectivity (System, Process, Experience APIs) aligned to enterprise and domain-driven architectures.
• Create reference architectures, reusable frameworks, and integration standards across programs.
• Ensure designs meet non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, resilience, and security.
• Own deployment architecture across on-premises, CloudHub, and Runtime Fabric (RTF).

Platform Governance & Quality

• Establish and enforce API governance, versioning strategies, naming conventions, and lifecycle management.
• Define security architecture using OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, client enforcement, and VPC/network controls.
• Govern asset reuse via Anypoint Exchange, ensuring consistency and reduced duplication.
• Review solution designs, RAML specifications, and critical technical decisions.

Technical Leadership

• Act as the technical authority for MuleSoft within client engagements.
• Mentor MuleSoft developers and leads on advanced flow design, DataWeave, and performance optimization.
• Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and technical walkthroughs with stakeholders.
• Support complex troubleshooting, production stability, and optimization efforts.

DevOps & Cloud Enablement

• Define CI/CD strategies for MuleSoft using Git, Maven, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, and Anypoint CLI.
• Guide teams on containerization and Runtime Fabric on Kubernetes (EKS / AKS / GKE).
• Establish observability standards using Anypoint Monitoring, Splunk, or similar tools.
• Define high-availability, disaster recovery, and runtime upgrade strategies.

Collaboration & Client Engagement

• Work closely with product owners, enterprise architects, and cloud teams to translate business needs into scalable integration solutions.
• Provide architectural input during solution planning, estimation, and technical roadmap discussions.
• Contribute to Valtech’s integration practice by sharing best practices, accelerators, and learnings.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Core Skills

• 10–12 years of integration experience with 6+ years in MuleSoft architecture or technical leadership roles.
• Strong hands-on expertise with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Mule 4.4+).
• Deep proficiency in DataWeave 2.x, error handling, and performance tuning.
• Exprt knowledge of API Manager, Runtime Manager, Exchange, and Anypoint Visualizer.
• Ability to design for high-volume traffic and optimize resource utilization.
• Implement caching, rate limiting, and back-pressure strategies.

Integration & Cloud

• Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with RAML, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and asynchronous messaging (JMS, queues).
• Hands-on experience integrating systems such as E-Commerce platforms, Salesforce, databases, and legacy platforms.
• Experience with Runtime Fabric (RTF) and container-based deployments.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

DevOps & Security

• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines for MuleSoft.
• Strong understanding of API and platform security best practices.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Integration Architect – I
• Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Integration Architect – II
• Salesforce Certified MuleSoft Developer – Level 1 / Level 2
