The Role  

As a Backend Lead, you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You bring 8+ years of experience, a growth mindset and a drive to make a lasting impact.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design and development lifecycle for SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) implementations.
• Architect and implement integrations between SAP Commerce and external systems (SAP ERP, CRM, PIM) using SCPI (SAP Cloud Platform Integration), Data Hub, or Hot Folders.
• Own the end-to-end backend architecture, ensuring optimal performance within the CCv2 (Public Cloud) environment, focusing on caching strategies and database optimization.
• Guide and mentor a team of backend developers in Java/Spring best practice, code quality, and Hybris-specific development standards.
• Collaborate with frontend (specifically Spartacus/Angular teams), DevOps, and Solution Architects to deliver decoupled, headless commerce solutions.
• Develop and maintain custom Extensions, AddOns, CronJobs, Interceptors, and ImpEx scripts to meet complex business requirements.
• Ensure clean coding standards, manage CI/CD pipelines (using Azure DevOps or Jenkins for CCv2), and oversee automated testing frameworks.
• Participate in technical design reviews, code audits, and sprint planning to ensure delivery timelines are met.
• Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Spring-based technical solutions.

Must have:

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: 

• Education: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field is typically required.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) versions 2011 through 2211+ (Backoffice, SmartEdit, PCM, WCMS).
• Solid understanding of Headless Architecture using Spartacus (SAP Composable Storefront) and OCC (Omni Commerce Connect) APIs.
• Deep proficiency in Java (J2EE) and the Spring Framework (Spring Core, MVC, Security, Integration).
• Experience in building and managing RESTful APIs and customizing Solr Search indexing and queries.
• Knowledge of Event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing (Task Queues, Spring Events).
• Strong understanding of SAP CCv2 Cloud infrastructure (Azure-based), Dynatrace monitoring, and Kibana logging.
• Experience with OAuth2, SSO (SAML/OIDC), and Spring Security best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines specifically for the SAP Commerce Cloud Portal.
• Strong understanding of FlexibleSearch, HANA/SQL database design, and data modeling.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues (memory leaks, thread dumps) and optimize backend services
