About the role
We’re looking for a motivated sustainability professional to join our growing team of policy and regulatory experts as we develop best in class sustainability compliance tools for our retail customers. In this role, you’ll support our team with researching, monitoring and analyzing sustainability regulatory requirements within the EU and other key global markets. Applicants should have comfort distilling complex regulatory requirements and possess a general understanding of the sustainability law and policy landscape at the EU level. This is a fully remote role.
What this looks like (responsibilities)
- Research regulatory requirements and non-governmental sustainability and ESG standards applicable within the EU and other key markets.
- Monitor and track emerging laws and standards as they develop from proposal through implementation.
- Develop compliance strategies that account for overlapping data requirements of relevant laws and standards.
- Work together with Vaayu’s product, engineering, science and policy teams to design user-friendly compliance and monitoring solutions.
Who we’re looking for (qualifications)
- Relevant academic qualifications and ideally at least 2 years experience in regulatory implementation or analysis.
- Experience in the field of sustainability ideally, with practical experience and understanding of how regulations practically apply to companies and compliance is achieved.
- Understanding of the legislative process in at least one relevant jurisdiction, e.g., the distinction between different types of legal instruments (e.g., statutory law versus administrative regulations versus formal guidance)
- Strong writer with demonstrated experience summarizing and distilling technical legal requirements for a range of audiences.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
