Within United Fintech, the Capital Markets division oversees a number of market leading FinTech products that are central to the success of some of the largest global financial institutions, including banks, exchange groups, brokerages and investment firms. The teams deliver highly resilient, secure, and performance-critical technology in complex, regulated environments.

To support the continued growth of the Capital Markets division and the ongoing harmonisation of our infrastructure and processes, we are now seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our growing team in London.

The Role

This is a hands-on DevOps role where you will work across multiple products within the Capital Markets division, supporting a growing client base and helping to ensure our platforms remain robust, secure, and scalable.

You will collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organisation and play a key role in client onboarding, platform reliability, and operational excellence. As we continue to align infrastructure and surrounding processes across the products within the Capital Market division, you will contribute directly to shaping how we operate at scale.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing our estate of AWS cloud assets:
  • IAM
  • Compute - EC2, ECS
  • Storage - S3, RDS, DynamoDB
  • Cloudwatch
  • Networking
  • Security
  • Load Balancers & DNS Management
• Managing automated infrastructure delivery via Terraform
• Working with third party partners (platform vendors etc)
• Working with our CTO to manage the continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines and manage the release process
• Assisting with the onboarding of new customers
• Managing security – authorised IPs, key rotation etc
• Support documentation/wiki maintenance
• BCP planning and testing
• Continuation of adherence to SOC2/ISO27001 practices

 

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a DevOps professional who combines strong technical capability with a collaborative, execution-focused mindset. You are comfortable working in complex, high-availability environments and take ownership of outcomes from design through to delivery.

Essential to succeed:

• 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience
• Strong experience with Terraform
• Linux administration experience (AWS Linux / CentOS)
• STEM background
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
• High attention to detail and strong operational discipline
• A results-focused mindset with the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
• Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies as the platform evolves
• Experience with:
• Ansible
• Prometheus

 

Helpful if you also bring

• Experience working with financial markets or market infrastructure
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (or similar)
• Microsoft O365 tenant management
• Experience with:
• Packer
• OpenVPN
• NGINX
• Docker
• Kubernetes

Location & Working Arrangements

The team primarily works from our office in London with flexible working arrangements. Once in a while we meet up but working mainly remotely from elsewhere in the UK also fits well to the way the team operates.
