Senior IT Manager

Trumia is a new-generation E-Money and Payment Services financial services provider, licensed and regulated in the EU. The Institution has set out to provide its clients with customer-centric and innovative financial services. It offers both consumer wallets and corporate accounts, driven by state-of-the-art technology to make its financial services seamless and beneficial to its users.
We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Manager to lead technology delivery and infrastructure for a fast-moving payments/fintech environment. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role suited to someone who has grown through software development and technical product ownership into IT management, and who understands both the engineering and the operational/regulatory realities of running technology in a licensed financial services business.
You will be responsible for the stability, security, and scalability of our technology, leading a team of developers and infrastructure staff, and acting as the key link between the business, our regulators, and our technical delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the IT/technology function, including team leadership, resourcing, and performance management
- Own IT strategy, infrastructure roadmap, and systems architecture decisions
- Oversee software development delivery, working closely with product owners, team leads, and senior developers
- Drive process improvement across development, change management, and IT operations
- Manage requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical specifications
- Ensure IT governance, change control, and risk management practices meet the standards expected of a regulated payments entity (e.g. DORA ICT governance, business continuity, vendor/outsourcing oversight) with the respective departments
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, hosting/cloud providers, and third-party suppliers
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance requirements from an IT systems perspective
- Act as escalation point for major incidents, ensuring timely resolution and post-incident review
- Mentor and develop technical staff, building a strong internal engineering culture
Requirements
- 5+ years in IT, progressing from software development into technical leadership and IT management
- Experience as a Team Lead, IT Manager / Group IT Manager, culminating in a Senior IT Manager or equivalent role
- Exposure to payments, fintech, or another regulated industry is highly desirable
- Track record of technical product ownership — bridging business requirements and engineering delivery
- Demonstrated skills in: Requirements analysis, Process improvement, Change management
- Experience managing IT across multiple business units or group structures is a plus
- Formal qualifications such as a BSc in Computing/Information Systems and business analysis certification (e.g. ISEB Business Analysis Essentials) are well regarded
