We are currently looking for a Lead Operations Officer to join our fast-growing and dynamic team. As the Institution continues to scale, this leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape our operational framework and drive excellence within our core team.
The Lead Operations Officer will act as a pivotal link between senior management and daily operations, taking a proactive approach to team supervision, process optimization, and service delivery. The successful candidate will ensure that the team operates with precision, speed, and in full alignment with our strategic goals.

Role and Responsibilities
- Leading and mentoring the operations team, overseeing daily workflows, and conducting performance reviews to ensure productivity and professional growth.
- Serving as the senior point of contact for complex client queries and high-priority operational issues, ensuring swift resolution with internal departments and third-party providers.
- Overseeing the client onboarding lifecycle and serving as the final internal check before liaising with Compliance on high-value or complex due diligence cases.
- Superintending daily payment flows and SWIFT messaging, ensuring the team maintains 100% accuracy and adheres to strict cut-off times.
- Managing high-level relationships with Banking Partners to optimize payment routes and resolve systemic queries.
- Taking ownership of the Core System configuration and leading the implementation of new products, fees, and account structures.
- Leading the drafting, implementation, and periodic review of operations policies, procedures, and internal guidelines to ensure they remain "best-in-class."
- Supervising the first line of defence in AML/CFT transaction monitoring and ensuring the team identifies and reports suspicious activity effectively.
- Collaborating at a senior level with Risk and Compliance to design and implement robust mitigation strategies for operational risks.
- Identifying systemic inefficiencies and spearheading projects to automate manual tasks, reduce costs, and improve the overall scalability of the Institution.
- Assisting the Chief Operating Officer by providing regular operational reports, KPIs, and data-driven insights to support executive decision-making.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in financial services operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or senior capacity.
- A Higher Education Qualification (Degree or Higher) in Finance, Banking, or a relevant field.
- Advanced knowledge of payment mechanisms and deep experience with SWIFT messages and core banking architecture.
- Proven ability to lead a team, delegate effectively, and manage a high-volume workload under pressure.
- Comprehensive understanding of AML and CFT regulations and their practical application in daily operations.
- Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and propose strategic process improvements.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to present complex information to senior stakeholders.
