
Restructuring Director – Private Credit

The Function
This role sits within Triple Point’s Private Credit team, which delivers flexible, relationship-led lending to ambitious UK SMEs. Our team combines deep credit expertise with a commitment to responsible investing, helping businesses access the capital they need to grow, refinance or restructure often where traditional lenders fall short.
The Team
The Restructuring Team plays a crucial role in providing support to borrowers who are experiencing challenges and showing signs of distress. The team provides dedicated and focused support, assisting in the development of turnaround strategies, and engaging expert advisors as required, helping the borrower to work towards financial stability.
Key Responsibilities
This position reports to the Head of restructuring and would suit a self-motivated individual with strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
The role will be varied and you will be expected to;
- Have a leading role in the oversight and management of the Private Credit portfolio of distressed and strategic exit relationships, including managing borrower relationships and working with advisers.
- Work with the Head of Restructuring to develop and establish strategies across the portfolio which includes primary responsibility for a mixed portfolio of customers.
- Complete restructurings including presenting the strategy at credit committees, negotiating, and executing legal documentation.
- Line management for 1-2 junior staff members, fostering professional development and a high-performance team culture.
- Shadow Private Credit Portfolio meetings inputting into watchlist status setting and forbearance requests.
- Member of Credit Forum (dependent upon experience).
- Active involvement in Portfolio Committees and Provision Committees within Private Credit involving evaluating and proposing provision levels on an individual loan basis.
- Build and maintain relationships with key external parties, including legal firms, restructuring professionals, and other financial institutions
- Lead relevant projects from time to time.
Knowledge & Experience
It is anticipated that you will have the following;
- Demonstrable track record in Loan Restructuring and Recoveries – in a Lender or Advisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Lending with experience across the financial services industry and knowledge of the SME / Mid-Market sectors within the UK market.
- Experience in Wholesale Lending and Residential Property Lending desirable but not essential.
- Experience of loan documentation negotiation (up to LMA standard) and execution.
- Strong financial modelling and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong inter-personal skills with ability to hold proactive and robust discussions with portfolio borrowers.
