Role Summary

In 2018 Triple Point was appointed by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (now the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero) to the role of Delivery Partner for its £320m Heat Network Investment Project (HNIP). The fund’s aim was to accelerate the design and construction of Heat Networks across England and Wales to help the Government deliver the cost-effective carbon savings required to meet the UK’s future carbon reduction commitments. 

In early 2022 TriplePoint were thrilled to be successful in their bid for the delivery partner role for the Green Heat Network Fund (GHNF), a successor scheme to the HNIP that will deploy more than £700m of grant funding to decarbonise existing networks and fund new low carbon networks in England. As Delivery Partner, Triple Point are responsible, among other things, for identifying viable projects from the current c.£2 billion pipeline of potential public sector projects as well as other suitable schemes from the public, private and charity sectors.

In 2025 Triple Point has been awarded a further Government Delivery Partner contract in respect of funds expected to be confirmed this summer.

Key Responsibilities

  • To Build and develop relationships within Triple Point, with Delivery Partner organisations and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to provide day-to-day contact on project status and performance.
  • Liaise with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero dedicated Project Management Office and Intelligent Client Function to ensure all reporting is submitted on time and in line with key performance indicators.
  • To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments.
  • Responsibility for the project processes ensuring all the correct sign offs and approvals are sought before final agreement.
  • Co-ordinating third-party supplier contracts and invoicing and take responsibility for overseeing the processes
  • Supporting the development of policies and processes for key operational risk areas. 
  • Working closely with the wider Clean Heat team and central functions to help to document and understand the key operational processes, quarterly Market Intelligence reporting and monthly CDEL / RDEL budget management. 
  • Take ownership of liaising with delivery partners to manage monthly project claims and provide support in the preparation and submission of monthly forecasting for the Department.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 2+ years experience in a similar role or function
  • Able to work autonomously and part of a wider team
  • Curious mindset – questioning why tasks are completed in a particular way
  • Strong communication skills - comfortable speaking to a range of stakeholders and making recommendations on usage
  • Personable and able to maintain good relationships with external partners, contractors, consultants etc 
  • Hands-on experience with project co-ordination, preferably with a working knowledge of public sector governance, government contract management and public procurement
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience of process mapping would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of procurement/supplier management best practice
