Role Overview
As a Sound Designer at Tripledot Studios, you'll be responsible for creating, editing, and implementing audio components for our portfolio of games. You will collaborate with our creative teams to craft an immersive audio experience that compliments the game's visuals and gameplay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create original and engaging sound design for games, including gameplay actions, user interface interactions, animations, rewards, transitions, and other in-game moments.
- Take ownership of sound design across multiple features and projects, from initial concept through final delivery.
- Edit, mix, and master audio to produce polished, balanced results across different devices.
- Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, developers, producers, and other members of the audio team.
- Communicate effectively with international colleagues, particularly teams based in London, Barcelona, and Australia.
- Interpret creative briefs, propose suitable audio direction, and respond constructively to feedback.
- Review audio within the game, identify areas for improvement, and iterate until the sound supports the intended player experience.
- Organize audio assets and project files clearly, following consistent naming and delivery practices.
- Manage priorities and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines.
- Contribute positively to team discussions and support a collaborative working environment.
Requirements:
- Strong sound design, sound editing, and mixing skills.
- A good understanding of audio processing, including equalization, compression, dynamics, spatial effects, and level balancing.
- Proficiency with at least one professional digital audio workstation.
- Ability to create a complete audio experience using sound effects, audio libraries, voice-over, music, recording, layering, and creative processing.
- A strong ear for detail, timing, tonal balance, and how sound supports visual feedback and the player experience.
- Openness to learning and adopting new audio tools, technologies, and workflows.
- Ability to interpret a creative brief and independently develop an appropriate audio direction.
- Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including confidence working with colleagues across different locations and time zones.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects.
- A reliable and constructive approach to teamwork and feedback.
Nice to Have
- Music composition and production skills, as it may occasionally be required.
- Previous experience creating audio for games, particularly mobile or casual games.
- An understanding of mobile audio limitations, file optimization, loudness, and playback consistency across devices.
- Experience with collaborative asset-management workflows.
