Role Overview

As a Lead Motion Designer, you will play a key role in driving the creative quality and performance of our video ad creatives for games. This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise, a performance-first mindset and the ability to optimise production speed and workflows at scale.

You will set the creative and technical bar for the team, mentor Motion Designers to grow their skills and champion the use of AI-powered tools to keep our production pipeline fast, efficient and competitive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical:
    • Produce high-quality creative videos for our games using Adobe After Effects (required) and Blender (highly preferred)
    • Review videos created by the team to refine and improve their quality and performance
    • Ensure videos meet high visual standards while balancing speed and efficiency of production
    • Continuously identify ways to optimise the production pipeline (templates, automation, AI-assisted workflows) to increase output speed without sacrificing quality
    • Leverage AI-generation tools to accelerate ideation, iteration and production
  • Managerial:
    • Act as the team’s go-to creative and technical expert, raising the skill level of Motion Designers through hands-on coaching and structured feedback
    • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and implement innovative ideas, study market and competitor trends and improve creative performance
    • Set and maintain quality and performance standards for video production, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
    • Identify growth opportunities for team members and support their development into stronger, more independent creatives

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Technical:
    • 4+ years of experience in motion design within the gaming or mobile industry, including experience leading or mentoring a team
    • A strong portfolio/reel showcasing your motion design work 
    • Hands-on experience with AI-based creative tools and a genuine interest in integrating them into the production process
    • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop and Blender
    • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, other 3D software and animation skills is a plus.
    • Strong understanding of production pipelines and how to optimise speed and efficiency without compromising quality
    • Strong understanding of composition, rhythm and timing in video creatives.
  • Managerial:
    • Recognised expertise in motion design with a proven ability to elevate a creative team’s skillset
    • Proven ability to provide constructive feedback and guide a creative team
    • A proactive mindset for fostering skill development and ensuring the team consistently meets and exceeds quality expectations
