Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join as a HR Operations Specialist based in Berlin to support our employees in Germany and wider European HR operations. Reporting into the Associate Director, HR Operations you will act as a local expert and collaborate with both the regional HR Operations team and wider HR team including Talent Acquisition, Talent Development and HR Business Partners. 

This role will support all local employee operations, administer processes and coordinate activities to facilitate world class ways of working throughout the entire employee lifecycle, contributing to a user-focused employee experience. This role will also provide HR Operations support to our employees in Poland. This is a hybrid office based role with the expectation of at least 3 days per week in office in Berlin, Germany.

This role would suit someone detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative, with solid local HR experience and a passion for people. The position is hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in our Berlin office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Germany Employee lifecycle administration - own and administer all employee lifecycle processes across onboarding, employee relations, employee changes to offboarding for our employees in Germany. This includes conducting inductions, drafting paperwork, managing terminations and updating Bob - our HRIS to maintain data integrity.
  • Poland & wider European HR Operations support - support employee lifecycle administration for our HR Operations in Poland and other regional offices. 
  • Payroll management - manage the relationship with our third party payroll vendor; submitting inputs, reviewing reports, troubleshooting queries and ensuring payment is made via our Finance team. 
  • Benefits administration - administer local benefit plans, through reporting, responding to queries and managing renewals as well as managing CPD (Continuous Professional Development) fund requests. 
  • Subject matter expert - respond to employee queries as well as other global HR team members, acting as a subject matter expert on German HR Operations and employment legislation.  
  • HR Operations optimisation - identify process improvements, ensuring our HR Operations are as efficient as possible whilst maintaining a solid people experience.
  • Project & programme support - support HR Operations and wider HR Team projects and cyclical programmes as required.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience of managing HR Operations in Germany
  • Good knowledge of German employment legislation 
  • A track record of optimising processes and ensuring compliance with local legislation
  • Familiarity with using a HRIS (preferably HiBob)
  • Fluent German and Professional level English
  • High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience working in a global multinational environment
