Role Overview:

We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to take ownership of the accounting of our Poland entity. This is a broad and operational role suited to someone who combines strong accounting expertise with a practical mindset and the ability to work effectively in an international group environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high-quality books and records in line with IFRS, establishing our in-house accounting as the primary source of truth. In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this person will play an important role in shaping the future finance setup for the entity, including support for systems implementation, process improvement, internal controls, and coordination across the wider finance team. Key Responsibilities:
  • IFRS Group Accounting: Own end-to-end IFRS accounting for the Poland entity, including general ledger, reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, period-end journals, and preparation of accurate reporting outputs in line with agreed group timelines.
  • Month-End Close & Consolidation Support: Manage the local month-end close with a focus on group compliance. Adapt local financial outputs to seamlessly support the broader consolidation and reporting process.
  • Systems Integration & Transition: Support the rollout of Xero and Tipalti in Poland. Work closely with the broader finance team to integrate these group-standard solutions, streamlining local operations to ensure alignment with group-wide practices.
  • Accounts Payable: Take full ownership of the end-to-end Accounts Payable process for the Poland entity. Responsibilities include driving supplier onboarding, reviewing and processing invoices, preparing payment runs, and independently resolving any outstanding items.
  • Audit Coordination: Support the annual statutory audit and act as the main point of contact for local auditors.
  • Payroll Coordination: Work closely with the outsourced payroll provider, validate payroll inputs, review payroll reports for completeness and accuracy and ensure timely posting of payroll-related accounting entries.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Take part in the establishment of processes and internal controls related to parent company reporting, consistently applying accounting policies, rules, and regulations to ensure full compliance with applicable IFRS standards.
Skills, knowledge & expertise:
  • 5 years of experience in Finance in a similar position.
  • Deep understanding of accounting and reporting principles under IFRS.
  • Good understanding of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and group reporting processes.
  • Professional working proficiency in Polish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic international environment and partnering with stakeholders across finance and operations.
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems and finance tools.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in an IT, software, or international services business.
  • ACCA, ACA, CIMA or similar Certification.
  • Experience with Xero and Tipalti.
  • Exposure to group reporting, intercompany processes, and finance transformation projects.
