About the role:

A pillar of technical excellence within Trinity's Software Engineering team, leading by example in the design and delivery of robust, event-driven .NET solutions and continuously raising the bar for the developers around you. 

Working alongside Business Analysts as the conduit between engineering and business users, clearly understanding and mediating the needs of both parties.  

Driving excellence through hands-on execution of a greenfield, event-driven automation platform, coordinating closely with the core Trinity Claims engineering team to ensure alignment, quality, and consistency across the wider system.  

Instilling a culture of clean code that not only meets requirements, but does so in a reliable, performant, testable, and predictable way. 

Maximising the performance, platform uptime, and observability of deployed systems, working with IT operations to ensure robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices are in place. 

The successful candidate will be fully ingrained in the process of improving and automating key parts of the claims process to help our clients to provide a best-in-breed, fairer, faster, and more cost-effective claims experience to their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the design of systems and processes to enhance business performance 
  • Active development of the system, event-driven processing pipelines, and AI-assisted capabilities in line with the team's processes and procedures 
  • Rectifying software defects in a timely fashion as and when identified 
  • Adherence to project plans and agreed delivery dates following SCRUM methodology 
  • Participation in group sessions with the engineering team and directly with business stakeholders 
  • Prioritisation and estimation of system enhancement requests 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team  
  • Willingness to undertake any individual or team task or activity reasonably requested and in line with the company values 

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary education with qualifications, or equivalent knowledge and experience.   
  • C#, ASP.NET Core, Modern .NET - 3+ years, with demonstrable experience building production-grade systems 
  • Azure - practical experience with event-driven services (Service Bus, Event Grid, Durable Functions, Azure Functions) and core platform services (App Services, SQL Database, Key Vault, Storage) 
  • Event-driven and asynchronous architecture patterns - message queues, pub/sub, orchestration/choreography (Durable Functions or equivalent) 
  • Entity Framework (Core and Classic) - 3+ years 
  • Building and consuming REST Web Services and OData APIs - 1+ years 
  • SQL Server (T-SQL) - 1+ years 
  • CICD with Azure DevOps/Github Actions or similar 
  • Agile experience (SCRUM) 
  • Demonstrable experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) - 1+ years 
  • Proven track record in technical troubleshooting - 3+ years 
  • Development of B2C/B2B Web application development - 3+ years 

Some experience of the following would be advantageous:

  • Azure DevOps 
  • AI integration experience (Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI APIs) - consuming AI services within a broader .NET platform rather than ML modelling 
  • Production experience with Docker containers/K8s 
  • Experience of IaC tools such as Terraform 
  • Insurance claims processing 
  • Analysis and technical design  
  • Knowledge of Design Patterns and Software Best Practices 
  • Knowledge of Architectural Patterns and Practices
