We are looking for a Data Migration Specialist to join our Professional Services organisation. The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of experience in developing and managing data migration tools, particularly within the financial and market data industries. This role is instrumental in ensuring seamless data transitions that directly impact customer business outcomes, supporting operational efficiency, data integrity, and strategic decision-making.
Success in this position relies on strong collaboration—you’ll work with project managers, technical teams, business analysts, and other project stakeholders to deliver solutions that align seamlessly with business needs. You will play a critical role in executing complex ETL processes, optimizing data quality, and ensuring the integrity of data structures to drive long-term value for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage data migration tools to support smooth and efficient data transfer.
- Execute ETL processes, optimizing data usability, integrity, and alignment with business goals.
- Partner with technical teams and business analysts to assess data quality, implement cleansing techniques, and enrich datasets.
- Design and optimize database structures, ensuring scalability and alignment with customer requirements.
- Develop and refine migration scripting using T-SQL, maintaining accuracy, performance, and compliance.
- Work within cloud-based CI/CD pipelines, improving automation, deployment efficiency, and system scalability.
Job Requirements
- 4–5 years of experience in data migration within the financial or market data industries.
- Proficiency in T-SQL for migration scripting and database management.
- Strong SQL and data manipulation skills.
- Java development expertise to support integration and migration processes.
- Delphi experience is preferred, though not required.
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data migration tools/platforms.
- Knowledge of reporting tools such as PowerBI and Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop solutions proactively.
- Strong communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in translating business requirements into effective data mapping specifications.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
