Job Description

The Operations Lead is crucial to Third Bridge's transformation program, coordinating operations across Legal, Compliance, and Editorial. This hands-on role drives a three-year agenda aimed at creating a scalable, tech-enabled model that enhances throughput and quality without a proportional increase in headcount.

We seek a candidate who thrives in ambiguous environments, thinks systemically, and understands that effective operational design centers on its users. While a background in legal, compliance, or editorial is not required, candidates must be analytically rigorous, commercially savvy, and motivated to streamline complex, multi-functional operations.

Reporting Line

Reports to: Head of Legal and Transformation
Indirect relationships: Head of Compliance, Head of Editorial, General Counsel
Scope: Operational oversight across Legal, Compliance, and Editorial globally, primarily based in Mumbai

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Identify and map high-volume, repeatable tasks across functions for automation, actively engaging in project development.
  • Create clear briefs for feature requests, detailing the operational case and costs of current workarounds.
  • Pinpoint structural or resourcing issues causing operational friction and propose practical alternatives, tracking resolutions formally.

Volume & Capacity Management

  • Maintain real-time visibility of volumes across Compliance, Editorial, and Legal, including inbound files, output rates, turnaround times, and backlogs.
  • Develop a live operational dashboard that serves as a decision-making tool for teams and the General Counsel.
  • Monitor a volume signal protocol with commercial and vertical teams to ensure timely communication of demand changes.

Stakeholder & Commercial Engagement

  • Act as the primary operational contact for Business Units, ensuring structured, data-driven communication.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial team to align client-facing turnaround commitments with team capabilities.
  • Participate in commercial meetings to gather insights on client priorities and feedback for team work prioritization.

Resourcing & Talent Pipeline

  • Lead resource planning for business-as-usual and contingency scenarios, considering individual manager needs.
  • Establish a continuous, automated talent acquisition pipeline to address attrition proactively.
  • Support the design of an incentive structure aligned with the resourcing model and operational targets.

Quality Framework & Performance Management

  • Assist in developing KPIs and reporting that provide objective data for performance discussions.
  • Integrate quality metrics into the operational dashboard alongside volume and capacity data.
  • Embed a consistent performance management structure across teams, ensuring accountability aligned with transformation goals.

Skills & Approach

  • Organizational rigor: adept at managing multiple workstreams while maintaining focus on priorities and details.
  • Clear communication: articulate in writing and conversation, translating operational data for senior audiences.
  • Analytical capability: skilled in data analysis to identify trends and make operational recommendations.
  • Systems orientation: understands interconnections among functions and designs solutions with broader impacts in mind.
  • Influence: drives change through credibility and relationships rather than hierarchy.
  • Technology pragmatism: curious about automation and system improvements, able to evaluate proposed solutions.
  • Practical design instinct: prioritizes user needs when developing new processes and tests ideas before implementation.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in operations management, preferably in professional services, financial services, media, legal, or content-led environments.
  • Experience working across multiple teams or functions, particularly in a global context with expertise in organizational design.
  • Comfortable managing relationships with commercial stakeholders at various seniority levels.
  • Familiarity with transformation programs and embedding new practices in established teams.
  • Experience with business intelligence or dashboard tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and formal project management certification (Prince2, PMP, or equivalent).
