What You Will Do 

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure that power analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
  • Build and optimize data models, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and governance across all stages of the data lifecycle.
  • Optimize workflows and system performance (e.g. SQL tuning, job scheduling, distributed processing).
  • Write clear documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing within the data team.

You will be great for this position if you have 

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ideally in a digital/online/eCommerce business environment.
  • Architectural thinking: you build the infrastructure to enforce modelling standards and can mentor the rest of the team to apply good principles.
  • Proven expertise in building and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and distributed data processing (e.g. Meltano, Airflow,  Spark, Starrocks, dbt).
  • Strong SQL and Python skills.
  • Strong experience with Docker containers and Docker swarm.
  • Solid knowledge of various file formats i.e. Delta, Iceberg etc.
  • Solid knowledge of modern data best-practices with respect to modelling, architecture and database concepts.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and infrastructure-as-code is a plus.
  • Understanding of data governance, data privacy (GDPR), and security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, detail-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication – able to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Passion for collaboration, teamwork, and building high-quality, reliable data systems.
  • Very good language skills in English.
