
Financial Accountant (f/m/d)

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Accountant (m/f/d) to join our team at our headquarters in Berlin, Germany. This is a multifaceted role, offering exposure to financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning.
The ideal candidate combines strong accounting skills with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset. You will take ownership of core accounting processes, support financial audits, and help shape financial controls as we scale in a fast-paced, international environment.
1. Independent management of accounts receivable and accounts payable using Datev:
- Independent processing of incoming and outgoing invoices and bank transactions
- Independent management and processing of the mailboxes for debtors and creditors
- Proactive handling of customer and supplier inquiries
- Independent management and monitoring of expenses via the global tool "Payhawk"
- Reconciliation and clarification of open items
2. Participation and independent tasks during month-end closing:
- Preparation of monthly reports such as VAT returns, summary reports and AWV
- Recording and posting of fixed assets
- Independent posting of recurring business transactions and accrued income and prepaid expenses
- Preparation of monthly reports and handling of ad-hoc inquiries
- Support and independent preparation of documentation for national and international tax returns
3. Support with annual financial statements/audits and external tax audits:
- Development of reports and documentation for the annual financial statements
- Independent compilation of receipts and supporting documentation for audit inquiries from tax advisors and auditors
- Completed training as an office administrator, financial accountant or tax specialist
- Several years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in an international environment, and solid knowledgese of accounting regulations
- Very good written and spoken German and English
- Knowledge of Datev and additional qualifications in finance and accounting are a big advantage
- Confident handling of MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook
- A very good understanding of financial processes and technical expertise for integrating various systems
- Excellent communication skills and strong teamwork and cooperation skills
- Passion for the field of accounting
