About the Procurement team and the Role

The Indirect Procurement team support departments in delivering innovative, externally supported solutions and ensuring we make commercially astute decisions across our supply eco-system.

The Indirect Procurement team at THG Ingenuity play a pivotal role in ensuring commercial value is realised for all goods and services purchases that the business requires to function. As a Buyer, you will already have gained significant experience across multiple Indirect spend categories, which you will use to lead key strategic sourcing exercises in Technology and Marketing, using your relationship-building and negotiation skills, creativity and your deep commercial acumen to deliver exceptional deals for THG Ingenuity. With over £300m of spend under management across these categories, you will have the opportunity to make a material impact on the Group’s P&L.

To be successful in this role, you will be adept at manipulating financial data to uncover savings opportunities, whilst leveraging relationships with senior business stakeholders to translate these into sourcing strategies. You will use all negotiation levers at your disposal to achieve best-in-class deals on new spend, whilst managing key suppliers closely to ensure value is retained throughout the contract life cycle. Equally important will be your ability to govern internal compliance to group procurement strategy, using your experience to suggest and implement process improvements to enhance effective spend management.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify savings opportunities, to create and maintain a Procurement pipeline
  • Work collaboratively with senior business stakeholders to execute complex and high-value procurement initiatives involving multiple stakeholders
  • Manage key suppliers to ensure that value is delivered throughout the contract cycle
  • Negotiate high-value contracts, ensuring that favourable commercial terms are secured
  • Collaborate with Legal and InfoSec to negotiate robust contract clauses
  • Keep up to date with market trends and identify innovative new technologies that can deliver business performance improvements

Requirements:

  • Indirect procurement experience required (Technology, Marketing and/or Professional Services category experience preferred)
  • Ability to independently identify and execute complex savings opportunities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset
  • High level of commercial awareness and excellent negotiation skills
  • Collaborative approach to working with senior business stakeholders
  • Strong data analysis capabilities, including advanced Excel
  • Robust understanding of Procurement process and best-practice
