The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Client Sales Executive with proven experience in advertising or media sales to join our commercial team. You’ll be responsible for generating and growing advertising revenue from a portfolio of direct clients, selling across City AM’s full media offering — including print, digital, native content, email marketing and event/sponsorship opportunities.

This is a role suitable for someone confident in their ability to develop business, pitch solutions, and manage campaigns from initial brief to delivery. You’ll work closely with key decision-makers and internal stakeholders to build campaigns that deliver strong results and long-term client relationships.

You’ll be responsible for managing your own sales pipeline, building relationships, and delivering revenue through tailored advertising solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a high-profile media environment with clear paths for growth and learning.

Reporting to the Client Director, you’ll play a key role in driving advertising revenue by effectively communicating the value of our brand and audience to clients.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage, develop and grow a portfolio of direct clients and independent agencies across relevant industry sectors.
  • Respond to inbound enquiries and proactively make outbound sales calls.
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell across our portfolio: print, digital, events, email marketing, and sponsored content.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality proposals and sales presentations that align with client objectives and campaign goals.
  • Achieve personal revenue targets and contribute to team targets.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and professionalism in all communications.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider sales, editorial, and design teams to ensure campaigns are delivered to spec.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and the competitive media landscape.
  • Proactively prospect new business and re-engage lapsed accounts through outbound outreach.
  • Represent City AM at client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.

 

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2–3 years' experience in client-facing role, ideally in media, advertising, or marketing.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills — confident engaging with decision-makers.
  • Self-starter with a proactive, results-driven approach.
  • Organised, with good time management and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working towards targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of media and advertising sales (training provided).
  • Team-oriented, eager to learn, and open to feedback.
