What will you be responsible for?
The Worldwide Logistics team is an established team that owns the automation of logistics processes such as B2B and freight. The Worldwide Logistics team works closely with the Data Science teams to innovate software for end-to-end integrated logistics management as well as route, cost, and space optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and line manage one or more teams of software engineers of different capabilities and engineering leads
- Support and monitor the growth and career path of direct reports by conducting 121s, goal and objective setting, ratings and pay reviews
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to ensure career growth and high-quality deliverables
- Ensure technical excellence by providing technical guidance, code reviews and feedback
- Be responsible for architecting, planning, and designing software solutions in collaboration with your team members
- Be responsible for the strategy, vision and roadmap for your team(s) in alignment with business aspirations, and in collaboration with your team members
- Collaborate with other engineering and cross-functional teams, business stakeholders and customers to deliver key projects
- Manage the software development life cycle for software projects, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance using Agile methodologies
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working in an Engineering Management/Engineering Lead role
- Strong experience in conducting 121s, goal and objective setting, ratings and pay reviews
- Solid experience in supporting career paths and growth of engineers and engineering leads
- A background of object-oriented programming principles and proven experience in at least one object-oriented language, preferably Java
- Experience in architecting complex software systems with a strong understanding of microservice architecture and event-based communication patterns
- Experience building and deploying large scale, distributed services
