Head of D2C - ESN (gn)

Hamburg (hybrid)

Your mission 

  • Forecasting & Planning: You own the numbers. You’ll run the annual budget process with Finance and the demand planning with Operations. The business relies on your forecasts to set the pace for how we grown and win in the market. 
  • Shop Strategy & Customer Activation: Discounts, promos, offering strategy are all yours. You decide how we activate customers on esn.com and how we actually hit (and beat) our topline targets. In this role you will have real impact.
  • Cross-functional Project Leadership: When big moments hit – like Black Week – you’re the one in charge. You pull Marketing, CRM, Webshop, and Ops together and make sure every lever is pulled and every stakeholder is aligned.
  • Executive & Board Preparation: You’ll shape the story at the very top. Expect to prepare sharp documents for the GM, CEO, and Board that cut through complexity and drive decisions.
  • Performance Analysis & Problem Solving: You look at the data, find what’s broken, and fix it. Promotions, products, categories – you’ll spot the issues and push solutions straight into execution. 
  • Team Leadership: You’ll lead and grow 1–2 team members, building a culture of ownership, speed, and high standards and high impact.  

 

Qualifications

  • You have 4–5 years of professional experience, ideally with around two years in top-tier consulting (MBB or similar) and another two years in consumer goods, FMCG, or e-commerce. 
  • You are a fluent in German and English, and you can switch between both languages with ease in your daily work. 
  • You bring a strong commercial mindset combined with a sharp sense for data, allowing you to connect numbers with business reality and translate insights into action 
  • You are willing to work from our Hamburg HQ two to three days a week (or bi-weekly) in order to stay close to your team and the business. 
  • You take extreme ownership for your area, and you are never too proud to get your hands dirty when execution matters just as much as strategy. 
  • Ideally, you have a genuine passion for sports and performance, which makes you a natural fit for ESN’s culture and mission.
