THE ROLE.
As People Partner for our North America Head Office, you’ll play a critical role in shaping, scaling, and delivering Gymshark’s People strategy across the region.
Partnering closely with associates through to directors, you’ll act as a trusted advisor, culture champion, and strategic problem solver, supporting teams through a period of growth and expansion. This role is pivotal in building a high‑performance, inclusive, and engaging workplace while ensuring operational excellence and compliance across NAM.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING.
- Partner with NAM Head Office functional leaders to understand business goals, workforce needs, and capability gaps.
- Provide proactive coaching on organisational design, team structure, and talent development.
- Deliver practical, forward‑thinking HR guidance aligned with employment law, company policy, and best practice.
- Support the implementation and communication of NAM People policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of NAM employment legislation and support education and training across teams.
- Manage employee relations cases end‑to‑end, ensuring fairness, consistency, and risk mitigation.
- Lead and conduct employee investigations, addressing complaints and conflicts in line with policy and legal requirements.
- Support all aspects of Leave of Absence administration, including Sick Leave, FMLA, PFL, ADA, and state‑specific leave, in partnership with third‑party administrators and Payroll.
- Design and implement absence management and return‑to‑work processes, including workplace accommodations.
- Partner with managers on performance management, supporting feedback, development, and formal processes.
- Analyse People data and reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, collaborating with UK Functional People Partners.
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition and People Operations to ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding experiences.
- Collaborate with Payroll on NAM‑specific matters, supporting operational improvements and projects.
- Lead audits and ensure accurate record‑keeping for compliance purposes.
- Support and lead cross‑functional People projects related to growth, market expansion, and process improvement.
- Foster a positive, inclusive culture through effective communication, engagement, and people practices.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED.
Essential Skills:
- 5+ years’ experience in an HR generalist or specialist role, ideally within a fast‑paced, omni‑channel environment.
- Strong working knowledge of New York State and New York City labour laws.
- Experience using ADP Workforce Now.
- A natural collaborator with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with a creative, solutions‑focused mindset.
- High personal integrity, sound judgement, and the ability to build credibility quickly.
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail.Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills:
- SHRM qualification.
- Multi‑state HR experience.
- knowledge of global employment legislation and experience supporting international or remote teams.
