Assistant Planner
OVERVIEW:
As an Assistant Planner, you’ll be a key player in driving the success of your category. You’ll support your manager with data entry, analysis, and allocation, while learning how to shape the financial strategy of your department—whether that’s shorts, leggings, or another product area.
You’ll work closely with your Assistant Merchant counterpart to forecast future product performance, analyze in-season results, and help distribute products across regions and channels. Together, you’ll ensure the right products are in the right places at the right time—all while managing one of the company’s most valuable assets: our inventory.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Preseason Planning
You’ll work with your Planning Lead to:
- Build sales, margin, and inventory plans by department, class, style, and color.
- Analyze previous results to identify missed opportunities and growth drivers.
- Summarize product plan risks and opportunities using key financial metrics.
- Recommend style counts and product flow to optimize margin and productivity.
- Help develop and present financial strategies for grow/maintain/decline categories.
- Support quarterly investment reviews and maintain forecasting tools.
In-Season Management
You’ll be responsible for:
- Providing daily and weekly updates on your department’s performance.
- Identifying trends and initiating conversations around risks and opportunities.
- Preparing forecasts and partnering with your manager in monthly OTB meetings.
- Monitoring core style performance and adjusting receipt flows accordingly.
- Ensuring your category is well-stocked across stores and channels.
- Managing weekly unit sales plans and identifying key drivers of performance.
- Supporting markdown and promotional strategies to maximize profitability.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Please note this is a hybrid role partially based in our New York City office (3 days per week). All candidates must be local or willing to relocate. You must also be authorized to work in the United States.

- Advanced Excel skills and a quick grasp of new systems and tools.

SALARY RANGE
This role has a salary range between $68'000- $75'000 The base pay offered is based on market, experience, and skills.
