Product Developer - Men's

OVERVIEW: 

As a Product Developer you efficiently manage the product development process within the Men's product category, ensuring on-time development of high-quality products that meet Gymshark standards. The Product Developer is responsible to manage on-time the critical path for each product and coordinates the product development with linked cross-functional team (design, colour, raw material, sourcing and quality). The Product Developer will ensure that all products align with aesthetic, construction, performance, safety, sustainability claims, and regulatory standards, ultimately delivering products that meet customer expectations and uphold brand integrity.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the Development Process: Own the product development timeline from design handover through to sealing, maintaining a clear and organised critical path and tracking all milestones to ensure timely delivery.
  • Create & Manage Tech Packs: Develop complete and accurate tech packs, including product construction, fit, and specifications. Collaborate with design and technical teams to maintain fit consistency and meet design intent.
  • Run Fit Sessions & Proto Reviews: Confidently lead fittings and prototype reviews, providing clear, actionable feedback to internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure Quality & Standards: Guarantee that all products are manufactured to Gymshark’s quality, safety, and compliance standards. Verify that products meet sustainability and performance claims.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with design, sourcing, colour, raw materials, and quality teams to ensure smooth development and resolve challenges quickly. Act as the main point of contact for all technical topics relating to your products.
  • Vendor Management: Partner with vendors and suppliers to meet development timelines, quality requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Testing & Compliance: Identify styles that require wear testing and manage the process. Ensure all testing, documentation, and approvals are complete within PLM at the seal stage.
  • Data & Continuous Improvement: Analyse product data to support improvements such as reducing return rates and elevating product performance.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Keep all product documentation, sealed samples, and communication up to date in PLM. Provide regular status updates to the Product Development Manager.

Accountabilities

  • Deliver all products on time by managing the full critical path and proactively flagging and resolving potential delays.
  • Ensure every product meets required construction, fit, quality, safety, and regulatory standards, as well as sustainability and performance claims.
  • Act as the go-to contact for product development across all cross-functional teams, ensuring smooth collaboration and communication.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for all product development activity, and report progress, risks, and issues to senior management and key stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience within the apparel sector.
  • Deep knowledge of garment construction, fit, and technical development processes.
  • Strong understanding of product development timelines, milestones, and critical path management.
  • Technical expertise across related functions — including colour development, raw materials, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices, safety regulations, and product compliance requirements.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with design, sourcing, production, and quality teams.
  • Confident reporting skills, with the ability to communicate clear and accurate updates.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with product development tools and systems (PLM, Excel, CAD software, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to align internal teams and external vendors.

Preferred Skills:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly analytical, with strong problem-solving skills.

This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSHQ, Solihull, UK.
