Web Engineering Manager
Are you our next Web Engineering Manager?
As a Web Engineering Manager at Gymshark you'll be leading a high-performing web engineering team leveraging NextJS & AWS serverless infrastructure to build and maintain our headless ecommerce website. Our website drives our global ecommerce sales, ensuring that our customers can find the products they need, both during our new product drops & huge peak sales such as Black Friday. It's critical that our website is performant & scalable to meet the needs of customers, as well as being quick to implement & test new features.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- You will line manage and guide a web engineering team who deliver across 3 cross-functional squads, ensuring they have the necessary resources and skills to deliver new functionality.
- Your responsibilities include mentoring and coaching your team members, recruiting diverse and talented individuals, and promoting a culture of collaboration, learning, and respect.
- You will work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to define the vision and technical direction of the products, as well as ensuring we deliver on multiple roadmap initiatives.
- You will take ownership of how your products are designed & built, as well as how new work is delivered through our SDLC, in addition to the operational management of the website.
- You will be responsible for monitoring & reporting on technical KPIs that demonstrate the quality & technical performance of our website.
- You will ensure the team has the necessary expertise, documentation & processes to manage & resolve incidents, both BAU & during peak sale periods.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Essential Criteria:
- Experience as a Web Engineer building customer facing websites utilising Javascript, Typescript, React or NextJS
- Experience managing, leading and mentoring a team of Engineers
- Experience working within an agile & fast paced environment
- An understanding of how to measure engineering performance for scalable websites & knowing what good looks like
This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSIQ, Solihull, UK.
