The role

We are hiring a Programme Manager to own delivery of the platforms that business sells on. Salesforce, Marketing Cloud and everything wired into them decide how quickly a lead becomes a conversation and a conversation becomes a contract, and how much of a salesperson's week disappears into admin instead. Your job is to make that estate work harder for the people selling.

This is not a coordination role. You will work hand-in-glove with the Head of Sales Ops and leadership to set the direction for the estate, hold the plan and the budget, and tell senior people early when something slips. You will be judged on whether selling got easier, not on whether the tickets closed.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the roadmap and delivery for the Enterprise sales and marketing platform estate - principally Salesforce and Marketing Cloud. You are accountable for what ships, what it costs, and whether it made selling easier.
  • Get deep enough into the business case, the platforms and the contributing teams to lead the work directly rather than report on it.
  • Consolidate demand from sales, marketing and revenue operations into a single prioritised backlog, and make prioritisation decisions transparently.
  • Programme-manage platform change end to end, including releases, migrations, major configuration and licensing, with operational readiness treated as part of done.
  • Hunt dependencies before they bite, particularly the integrations between the sales stack and everything upstream of it, scheduling that work with realistic lead time.
  • Commit only what is understood. Dates and scope do not go to stakeholders while the uncertainty behind them is still open. A date offered to relieve pressure in the room is a date that will be wrong in reality.
  • Govern data quality, integration and reporting across the stack, so that commercial leadership can rely on the numbers.
  • Manage vendors, implementation partners and licensing, holding them to the same standards as internal teams and reviewing commitments ahead of renewal.
  • Maintain a single source of truth: decisions, risks, and a plan people trust more than their own notes.
  • Communicate openly and early, including where there is bad news, setting out impact, cause and the proposed response.
  • Partner with the Technical Product Manager on squad execution, and with AI Transformation on where automation belongs in this domain.
  • Report progress and benefit to Enterprise commercial leadership, and ensure the benefits in the business case remain measurable after go-live.

Who you are

  • Experience leading large, multi-team change across a live business platform, where sales, marketing, engineering and a vendor had to deliver together without taking the business offline.
  • Technically literate: able to follow an architecture discussion, test an estimate and ask informed questions of engineering teams.
  • Commercial judgement: comfortable partnering and questioning the business case, assessing what a programme is worth and what would need to be true for that value to hold.
  • Comfortable holding accountability for delivery across team boundaries, including where a programme is at risk.
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders, able to make the case for unwelcome decisions such as a change of scope or date, and reach a decision.
  • You apply AI to your own work. Expect to be asked what you have automated in your own practice and what you have learned recently.

Also useful:

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud, including experience of a complex migration.
  • Revenue operations experience: lead routing, pipeline hygiene, attribution and forecasting.
  • Experience managing implementation partners and negotiating licensing at renewal.
  • Experience in B2B subscription or information-services businesses.
