An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join The Economist as a VIP Manager reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing VIP delegate attendance for our portfolio of treasury related events.

This is a rare opportunity to join an ambitious team who are truly customer-centric and committed to delivering the very best results. The portfolio has experienced unprecedented growth over the last 12 months, and as a result, we’re looking for a VIP Manager who is eager to develop their skills and career fast. 

Accountabilities

How you will contribute:

  • Develop a strong understanding of our products, customer and competitive landscape and translate these into effective VIP acquisition strategies 
  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects including but not limited to full event invitations,  roundtables, breakfast briefings etc. always working with the lead marketeer on targets
  • Daily outreach to selected senior professionals using multiple channels like email, social media and phone
  • Understand and anticipate internal and external customer needs with the ability to think creatively and problem-solve efficiently
  • Work alongside other functions including sponsorship, programming, operations and design to develop activities, behaviours and shared KPIs that will ensure alignment and accountability from all stakeholders
  • Building a VIP product offering across the business

Experience skills and professional attributes 

  • Proven event experience (with preference given to those with conference marketing experience and industry events) 
  • Excellent client and external stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent time management and the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously at different stages in their life-cycle
  • Self-motivated, naturally curious and a strong sense of personal accountability
  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator 
  • Commercially minded and highly motivated to exceed targets 
  • Excellent written and spoken English

The majority of our roles operate on a hybrid working pattern, with 3+ days office attendance required.
