Senior Analyst, Middle East & Africa

Accountabilities
In the role you would be expected to:
- To be an intellectual leader within the regional team, providing leading analysis and insight on some of the major Middle East and North Africa countries and strong regional knowledge
- Show a strong sense of editorial judgement and ensure required quality standards for EIU products and services are met at all times
- Promote our work on this topic within TEG and externally, and liaise directly with external clients and media organisation on behalf of The EIU
- To contribute to the commercial success of the Research and Analysis business via a focus on value-creation for clients
- Provide strategic insight and input to help develop the EIU’s products and services
- To work collaboratively with other senior EIU staff members to support new business development and implement divisional strategy
- Implement training and onboarding strategies to enhance skills across the team
- Work with both analysts and research analysts to mentor them and help them develop their macroeconomic and forecasting skills
Manage external contributors:
- Be responsible for finding and commissioning suitable external contributors to provide additional analysis of political and economic events within the countries of responsibility
Experience, skills and professional attributes
To succeed in the role you must have:
- Experience in senior positions and/or demonstrable experience
- A thorough understanding of macroeconomic data and forecasting techniques
- In-depth knowledge of economics and policy
- Very strong written and oral communication skills
- A Master degree and/or MBA
- Relevant language skills (Arabic; French) would be an advantage
- Strong knowledge in MS Office especially Excel, Access and PowerPoint
