This role reports into the SVP, Impact Partnerships, EMEA and is based in our central London office, with flexibility for hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

  • Confidently engage with prospects and management-level client contacts through calls, meetings, and events
  • Follow up on leads, qualify opportunities, and assess business potential
  • Attend client meetings (in-person and virtual), contributing to discussions and relationship development
  • Represent Economist Impact at industry events and networking engagements, serving as a professional ambassador for the brand
  • Collaborate with sales and strategy teams to prepare tailored proposals, pitch presentations, and client materials
  • Maintain and update sales collateral and client contact records in Salesforce
  • Arrange and coordinate client calls to support prospecting and early-stage engagement
  • Support the delivery of client events by liaising with marketing, editorial, facilities, and other internal stakeholders.

Who you are

  • Entry level professional experience in sales, business development, client services or a related role
  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in Salesforce and associated sales outreach tools (e.g. Salesloft, Highspot) to drive effective prospecting, client engagement, and pipeline management
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in research and written communications
  • A proactive and curious mindset with the confidence to ask questions and learn on the job
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with a professional and personable manner
  • Enthusiasm for working collaboratively and supporting a high-performing team
  • Comfortable using AI tools effectively
  • Self-motivated, eager to grow, and excited by the opportunity to make an impact
  • A genuine interest in global affairs, sustainability, public policy, and The Economist brand

This is a great opportunity for someone keen to grow their career in commercial strategy, partnerships, or marketing within a globally respected organisation. You’ll join a smart, supportive team and get hands-on experience with the big issues shaping business and policy around the world.
