Within the Economist group, we are in a fortunate situation where we have a thriving B2C circulation business and a growing B2B business, including media, content, event, subscription and consulting.
We are looking for a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer to join the team responsible for the development, maintenance and administration of the marketing tech stack, centred on the salesforce ecosystem. We work with business owners in marketing and product to deliver scalable, innovative and future-proofed solutions, helping the group realise maximum value from their marketing technology investments.
How you will contribute:
- Developing solutions end-to-end in-line with business requirements and development principles.
- Contributing to technical solution design.
- Liaising and collaborating with marketing and product colleagues to help them get the most out of marketing technology.
- Identifying and delivering on training needs amongst end-users.
- Documenting technical designs, training resources and key engineering decisions.
- Presenting solutions to the wider business and senior leadership.
- Working with QA engineers to make sure quality requirements are met and acceptance criteria satisfied.
- Recommending appropriate marketing tech enhancements and keeping on top of innovations within the marketing automation space.
- Participating in team retros and making recommendations regarding ways of working.
- Adhering to security and data governance principles.
- Adhering to development principles regarding security, resilience and performance.
- Occasionally responding to out-of-hours support requests.
The ideal skills for the role are:
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist Certification desired.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator or Developer Certification desired.
- Advanced knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including:
- Journey builder
- Email studio
- Automation studio
- Contact builder
- SFMC connector
- Mobile studio.
- Advertising studio.
- Marketing Cloud data architecture.
- Marketing Cloud administration.
- Advanced HTML and CSS for email.
- Advanced AMPscript.
- Advanced SQL.
- Experience with email render testing.
- An understanding of Salesforce CRM.
- Understanding of email deliverability and the infrastructure that impacts deliverability.
- Experience working across multiple teams, managing stakeholder expectations and delivering to deadlines.
