To meet our business goals and objectives we are expanding our Global Talent Acquisition team by adding a Talent Acquisition Business Partner to support our global recruitment efforts for the Tech, PMO & Product functions of the Economist Group.

As part of a global team, the Talent Acquisition Business Partner, you will support the continued development of innovative, creative and proactive recruitment strategies while providing coaching and counsel to hiring managers, Business leaders and People business partners on hiring trends and recruiting processes.

This role requires a highly resourceful, influential individual  who possesses a strong executive presence and the ability to interact with members of our senior leadership teams.  The Talent Acquisition BP will also possess a strong customer service orientation ensuring programs and tools and interactions are efficient and effective in delivering an integrated Talent Acquisition process. 


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the strategic advisor to leaders by consulting with them to define and drive their talent agendas.
  • Function as a subject matter expert on all recruiting activities and maintain up-to-date knowledge of recruiting issues, trends, and employment regulations within the regions we operate in.
  • Partner with leadership to identify talent needs, workforce planning strategies, and search assignments.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified leaders.
  • Leverage online recruiting resources, social media, and in-house ATS to identify and recruit top talent.
  • Source and pre-screen candidate resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements.
  • Leads on the presentation, selection, offer, negotiation, closing, and administrative components involved in full lifecycle recruiting.
  • Maintain accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidate searches, hiring manager interactions, and other recruiting activities to ensure a thorough audit if required.
  • Uses effective communication approaches that include proactively keeping others informed, appropriately expressing ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form, and timeliness.
  • Develops an effective pipeline of key talent potentially available for immediate hire as succession planning needs dictate.
  • Stays informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in state-of-the-art recruiting practices.

Experience, skills and professional attributes:

  • Strong experience in recruitment processes, including passive sourcing, talent mapping, and candidate management
  • Consultative and collaborative style with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across an organisation;
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines, ability to prioritise conflicting demands, organise time and resources to deliver solid and consistent results for the business and bring assignments to successful completion;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and presentation abilities with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals both internal and external to the 
  • must possess the ability to manage processes and assignments globally and independently along with the ability to effectively network, influence and collaborate;
  • Proving ability to deliver results and meeting hiring targets.
  • Experience in hosting networking events and speaking on related subjects such as improving diversity in tech;
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies;
  • Knowledge and experience of hiring technology candidates to work on platforms such as Stack Overflow and Github;
  • Experience in hiring roles such as Software Engineers, Tech Lead, Product Managers, Delivery Leads etc
  • Proven record of the ability to assess candidates’ knowledge levels of programming languages including Javascript, Go, React, Node.js; and
