Trade & Contracts Manager
We are looking for a Trade & Contracts Manager to build and grow Tekla's relationships with interior professionals and architects across the United Kingdom. This is a newly created role at the intersection of our retail, wholesale, and clienteling strategy, and represents a significant commercial opportunity for someone who understands how the design and hospitality trade works.
Reporting directly to the Commercial & Merchandising Director, you will own the trade relationship from first contact to long term account, with real commercial accountability and close collaboration with the London store team.
This is a unique opportunity to shape Tekla's trade programme from the ground up. Based in London and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, you will work closely with our London retail team as well as our global wholesale and commercial teams in Copenhagen and beyond, developing a structured, high value trade business in one of our most important markets.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Trade development and account management
- Identify, approach, and onboard interior professionals and architects across the UK, with an initial focus on London.
- Build a structured trade network and manage ongoing relationships through regular visits, appointments, and personalised outreach.
- Develop and maintain a clear pipeline of active trade accounts, tracking engagement, project activity, and revenue.
- Act as the primary point of contact for trade customers, delivering a consistently elevated service in line with Tekla's brand standards.
- Support UK based residential and hospitality projects end to end, from specification through to fulfilment.
Retail and store collaboration
- Work closely with the London store team to convert high intent visitors and valued clients into long term trade relationships.
- Use the store as an active tool by hosting trade appointments, sampling sessions, and private showings.
- Feed insight back to the retail and wholesale teams on product demand, project types, and market trends.
Programme building
- Define and refine the Tekla trade programme, including terms, tools, product access, sampling process, and service model.
- Work with the wholesale team so trade customers are correctly routed and supported across channels, including in store, our B2B platform, and e-commerce.
- Identify product gaps and flag commercial opportunities specific to the trade and contract market.
- Develop materials and presentations suited to design studios and hospitality procurement teams.
Reporting and commercial discipline
- Own a clear trade revenue target and manage towards it with a structured approach to pipeline and forecasting.
- Track outreach activity, conversion rates, and account revenue through our CRM tools.
- Provide regular reporting to the Head Office team on progress, learnings, and recommendations.
We would love to hear from you if you are, or have:
- Experience in trade sales, B2B account management, or design community engagement, ideally within premium lifestyle, home textiles, furniture and fittings (FF&E), or interior products.
- A good understanding of how interior designers, architects, and hospitality buyers work, how they specify, and what they expect from a supplier. Strong relationship building skills, with a warm and commercially minded approach and genuine interest in the people and projects you work with.
- Well organised and self directed, comfortable managing a pipeline and working to targets with limited oversight.
- Fluent in English. French or another European language is an advantage.
- Based in London, with flexibility to travel for appointments and events across the UK.
- An appreciation for considered, quality home textiles and an interest in Tekla's approach to product and brand.
We review applications and hold interviews on an ongoing basis, with the aim of welcoming the successful candidate as soon as possible. If you have a genuine interest in building Tekla's trade presence in the UK and the commercial drive to grow it, we would love to hear from you.
