
Technology Lead
We are looking for a Technology Lead to build and lead our Operations Technology function.
You will own the architecture of our systems, the integrity of our data, and the delivery of critical technology initiatives, creating a scalable foundation that enables the business to grow with confidence.
This role offers real ownership and influence across the organisation. You will shape how technology supports every function, lead key partners and stakeholders, and champion an AI first approach that drives meaningful automation, efficiency, and operational capacity.
Reporting to the Head of Operations & Technology, you will be the focal point for technology priorities across all functions, coordinating across product owners, aligning cross system dependencies, and ensuring technology investments are sequenced by business priority. You will collaborate with external data, commerce, and ERP partners, and work closely with cross functional teams to deliver scalable, business critical systems.
This is a hands on leadership role that balances execution with strategy and informal leadership. You bring strong technical capability, identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and contributing directly, while also setting direction, prioritising what matters most, and keeping initiatives moving forward.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Owning the enterprise technology roadmap, systems architecture and long-term technical direction
- Coordinating cross-system dependencies and aligning product roadmaps across teams
- Sequencing technology investments by business priority — ensuring the organisation is ready (people, processes, data) before implementing new systems
- Leading AI and automation initiatives that improve efficiency, capacity and scale
- Ensuring reliable, secure and well-integrated platforms across ERP, commerce, warehouse and data systems
- Safeguarding data quality, governance and system integrity
- Managing external technology partners and holding them accountable for outcomes and delivery standards
- Leading technology projects end to end, from scoping and prioritisation through implementation — acting as internal project manager, setting the pace and holding cross-functional teams accountable for delivering their part
- Establishing standards, processes and documentation that reduce technical debt and support sustainable growth
- Overseeing security, access controls, licensing and technology spend to ensure operational resilience and cost effectiveness
- Initially serving as Product Owner for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP) until a dedicated resource is hired
- Defining and maintaining hardware and software standards across the organisation, including approved equipment for retail locations, system updates, and patch management
We'd love to hear from you if you are / have:
- 5+ years of experience in technical roles (software development, data engineering, or architecture), with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity
- ERP expertise, ideally with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Proven ability to build and scale systems within growing organisations, ideally in retail or e commerce environments
- Hands-on technical capability across integrations, backend systems and data pipelines
- Practical experience applying AI or automation to real business problems
- Familiarity with modern commerce or composable architectures
- Strong foundations in data infrastructure and analytics
- Effective partner and stakeholder management
- Clear communicator who bridges technical and business teams with ease
- Comfortable in an open-plan and curated workspace, aligned with the company’s norms and values
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
