Finance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting operations and lead a team of finance professionals.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial reporting, excellent analytical capabilities, and proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams. As a company that aspires to utilise an AI first approach, we are looking for someone with a strong digital mindset and a proactive approach to leveraging AI and automation tools to enhance reporting processes and improve efficiency.

This role is instrumental in ensuring financial accuracy and supporting Tekla’s profitability and growth objectives. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Manager will also contribute to a range of ad hoc financial projects and initiatives across the function.

This is a full-time position based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local GAAP standards (currently three entities)
  • Manage the financial close process, ensuring all deadlines are met and reporting is complete and accurate, and supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support the team with hands-on accounting, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
  • Develop and maintain robust financial reporting frameworks and internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements and industry standards, including tax and VAT regulations
  • Coordinate and manage external audit processes together with the team, upholding high standards of financial governance
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance metrics
  • Lead continuous improvement by leveraging AI and emerging technologies to enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting tools
  • Perform variance and accuracy analyses to validate forecasts, budgets, and data integrity, encouraging transparency and accountability
  • Investigate material variances and implement process improvements that enhance forecasting precision and analytical rigour
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support business planning, cost efficiencies, and strategic priorities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities for team members
  • Manage workload allocation and resource planning to ensure efficient operations
  • Conduct performance reviews and support career development planning

We would love to hear from you if you are/have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Significant experience in financial reporting (usually reflecting at least seven years of experience)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations
  • Proven experience managing and developing finance teams
  • Advanced proficiency in financial reporting systems and Excel
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and digital tools to streamline financial reporting and improve efficiency
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central is an advantage
  • High attention to detail and confidence managing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships
  • Comfortable in an open-plan and curated workspace, aligned with the company’s norms and values
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
