We are seeking a senior software engineer to be embedded with our data science team. You will turn experiments into reliable, high-performance production services, build the data and inference paths that power our models, and ensure ML delivers measurable impact at scale. This role requires excellent coding skills and a strong grasp of data science concepts, trade-offs, and evaluation.
Responsibilities:
- Translate notebooks and prototypes into robust, maintainable production services for training, inference, and evaluation.
- Design, implement, and optimize services and data flows for batch and real-time ML use cases, focusing on throughput, latency, resiliency, and cost.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists on problem framing, feature strategies, experiment design, and metrics; ensure rigor, reproducibility, and traceability across the lifecycle.
- Build clear, well-documented APIs for model-powered features; handle schema evolution and backward compatibility.
- Establish strong testing and reliability practices: unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end tests; automate benchmarks and regression checks for both code and models.
- Partner with the AI platform team to leverage shared infrastructure and CI/CD; provide feedback to evolve platform capabilities based on product needs.
- Drive observability and incident response for model-backed services: logging, metrics, tracing, alerting.
- Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable, distributed services that support data-heavy and low-latency applications.
What You Will Bring to the Team:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience focused on backend/services and distributed systems.
- Mandatory: strong Python skills for production-grade code (notebooks-to-services, packaging, testing).
- Strongly preferred (not mandatory): very good Scala skills.
- Solid system and API design fundamentals; ability to reason about consistency, concurrency, throughput, and latency.
- Practical understanding of core data science and ML concepts: supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering trade-offs, cross-validation, leakage prevention, evaluation metrics and experiment design.
- Experience shipping and operating model-backed services in production, including release management, observability, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Commitment to high-quality code: clear abstractions, defensive programming, and comprehensive tests.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; you can explain trade-offs, align stakeholders, and help bridge research and production.
Nice to have:
- Experience with real-time inference and low-latency serving, including GPU-aware performance tuning.
- Background in ranking, recommendations, forecasting, NLP, or fraud/anomaly detection.
If you love partnering with data scientists, care deeply about production quality, and want to deliver ML that works reliably at scale, we’d love to talk.
We care about you:
- Security & Savings: Attractive package providing financial peace of mind, including competitive compensation, profit-sharing, daily meal vouchers (Swile), family health insurance (Alan).
- Career Development: Continuous investment in our employees' skills: in-house and external training, tech conference opportunities, internal mobility (individual contributor or management career ladder).
- Life Balance: A well-balanced work-life for our employees is one of our top priorities: 35+ days off per year, hybrid work (2 days remote work per week), fully covered parental leave.
- Wellness: Prioritizing employee well-being through premium work equipment, enjoyable work environment (work-life balance, team building events, summits), remote work subsidy, promoting Diversity & Inclusion with internal & external initiatives (women speaking groups, dedicated school partnerships), dedicated charitable time and sustainability actions (Eco Tree, subsidy for eco-mobility).
