About the opportunity
We are seeking a resourceful, bright, and energetic IT System Engineer to join our IT team.
The ideal candidate is a proactive go-getter who works well independently and as part of a team, and is passionate about their work. As a self-starter, you will enjoy working on operational tasks and are dedicated to delivering the best possible customer experience in a dynamic environment. This role is a critical part of our organization, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust, scalable, and secure technology foundation. You will be a technical expert with a security-first mindset, dedicated to building and optimizing systems that are not only high-performing and available, but also resilient against modern threats.
What will you do?
- Manage IT system services and infrastructure, including Okta, Kandji, and other systems, with a focus on automation to streamline operations.
- Administer and secure a fleet of macOS and Windows endpoints, leveraging Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools and scripting to automate routine tasks.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to develop and implement policies, automating compliance checks and security protocols where possible.
- Manage on-premises and GCP (Google Cloud Platform) cloud-based resources, utilizing automation tools to provision and maintain infrastructure.
- Regularly update systems and applications, using automation to patch vulnerabilities and ensure consistent security across all endpoints.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, procedures, and best practices, including automation scripts and workflows.
What will you bring to the team?
- 5+ years of progressive experience in IT as a System Administrator and Infrastructure Engineer, specializing in both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Proven ability to manage, maintain, and support large-scale infrastructure on AWS and GCP, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Expertise in Linux system administration, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Leveraged scripting in Python and Bash to automate routine tasks, improve system efficiency, and streamline operations.
- Solid foundation in networking, with a deep understanding of core protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security best practices for firewall management.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges under pressure while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Terraform experience is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
